Agricultural and livestock fairs across India serve as vibrant platforms for farmer interaction, knowledge sharing, and cultural celebration. The Buffalo Farmer Association’s Pashu Mela at Dhanaula (Barnala) exemplifies this spirit, featuring cattle beauty competitions and traditional events like the “Do Dand Muhra Zhotian Da Muqabla.” Farmers from Punjab, Haryana, and North Rajasthan actively participate, making these gatherings hubs for both crop and dairy farming awareness.

Such fairs echo the grandeur of Rajasthan’s Pushkar Animal Fair, where prized animals like buffaloes and horses are valued in crores—this year a buffalo named Anmol was valued at 23 crores and a horse Shahbaz at 15 crores. Other multi‑stage fairs, involving the sale of camels, horses, donkeys, and cows alongside cultural festivities, further highlight India’s rich livestock heritage and provide breeders and buyers with valuable networking opportunities.

At the BFA Dhanaula Pashu Mela, Rasi Seeds showcased its silage maize hybrids, Rasi 3033 and Rasi 3591, known for high dry matter, protein content, and superior biomass to support dairy animal nutrition. The spotlight, however, was on Sartaj wheat, Rasi’s newly launched variety. To build awareness, free samples were distributed to over 1,700 farmers, alongside a lucky draw with prizes like spray pumps and torches. This initiative created excitement, strengthened farmer trust, and positioned Sartaj wheat as a value‑driven solution for higher yields and better returns, reinforcing Rasi Seeds’ commitment to empowering farmers.
