Boosting India's Dairy Sector: Rasi Seeds Partners with ICAR-IGFRI

In a significant stride toward strengthening India's dairy industry, Rasi Seeds has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute (ICAR-IGFRI) in Jhansi.

The agreement, inked by R. Rajendran, Managing Director of Rasi Seeds, and N. Saravanan, Business Head of Sira Seeds, was witnessed by ICAR-IGFRI Director Pankaj Kaushal and Project Coordinator Vijay Kumar Yadav.

This collaboration focuses on commercializing high-quality berseem and oat forage varieties under Rasi's dedicated brand, Sira Seeds. With over 2.5 million hectares already under these winter crops, the partnership aims to bridge the persistent demand-supply gap for green fodder—vital for livestock nutrition and milk production.

By ensuring timely access to superior, scientifically validated seeds, the initiative supports White Revolution 2.0, promising higher milk yields, reduced feed costs, and improved livelihoods for millions of dairy farmers.

As R. Rajendran stated, "Through this MoU, we aim to bring high-performing forage varieties to farmers, eliminating quality seed shortages via the Sira brand."

This farmer-centric alliance underscores Rasi Seeds' commitment to sustainable agriculture and enhanced dairy productivity.
